Interesting facts about Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
-According to How Long to Beat’s website the average play through takes about 32 hours to complete.
-According to GameRankings.com, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic holds an overall rank of #144 for the PC version, and #85 for the Xbox version. They also hold a rank of #24 for the PC, and #5 for the Xbox respectively.
-According to VGChartz, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic has sold over 2.3 million units between the Xbox and PC releases.
-Currently, about 2 games are sold per week for the Xbox version.
-Regarded as one of the best games of all time, and received numerous awards and nominations.
-Intentionally set 4,000 years before Episode 1, BioWare was given a lot of creative freedom with designing the Republic. Very little was rejected from LucasArts, an important concept when considering how innovative this game was for its time.
-BioWare considered releasing KOTOR on other consoles, but settled on the Xbox as they considered it to be easier to develop on.
-Based on the engine used to create Neverwinter Nights, BioWare would rewrite the engine for KOTOR. This allowed interesting features not existent in other games for the time such as grass blades weaving with the wind.
-Upon release, KOTOR sold over 250,000 units in its first four days for the Xbox version alone, making it the fastest selling game for the Xbox at that time.
-Backwards compatible with the Xbox One.
