-According to How Long to Beat’s website the average play through takes about 16.5 hours to complete.
-According to GameRankings.com, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening and the DX color version has overall rank of #547 and #357 respectively, while the original version is ranked #1 for the Game Boy, the DX version is ranked #6 for the Game Boy Color.
-According to VGChartz, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening has sold 3.83 million units worldwide, not including sales from the DX version.
-Currently, about 8 games are sold per day.
-Nintendo would remaster the Link’s Awakening to a color version stamped with “DX” after the title for the Game Boy Color in 1998. Which would include an exclusive color-based dungeon.
-Link’s Awakening on the Game Boy would be the first time the series would be played on a handheld console.
-It is one of few games not featuring the land of Hyrule, Prinzess Zelda, or the Triforce.
-Link’s Awakening started as a port of A Link to the Past for the SNES. Being developed after-hours by Nintendo Staff, and grew into an original project as it picked up steam. However, it started as a way for programmer Kazuaki Morita to learn the first Game Boy development kits, and used it as a way to experiment with the Game Boy’s capabilities.
-Including the DX version, Link’s Awakening has sold more than 6 million units world wide.
-Shigeru Miyamoto did not provide any creative input to the development team, but served as a producer and game tester. His opinions would influence the latter half of the development process.
-Series producer Eiji Aonuma claims that the Ocarina of Time would look very different today had Link’s Awakening not happened.
-Link’s Awakening would remain on best seller lists for more than 90 months after its release, and is attributed to boosting Game Boy sales by 13% in 1993. It has also received multiple awards, and is considered one of the most influential games of all time.
