30th Anniversary: Street Fighter by Capcom

 

Capcom released the first entry of the now popular competitive fighting franchise Street Fighter August 30^th 1987

Interesting Facts
-Only Ryu, and his former training partner/rival Ken would continue on to Street Fighter II
-This was Capcom’s first attempt at a competitive fighting game
-The character portraits in this game were designed by Keiji Inafune
-In 1988, the magazine Coinslot ranked Street Fighter as the top dedicated arcade game
-The TurboGrafx CD port was called Fighting Street
–Test Your Might-like mini game where the player breaks a stack of tiles or cement blocks
