-This would be the first time Luigi would be introduced to the Mario franchise.
-It is rumored that Mario received his name for Donkey Kong Junior from a landlord that barged into Nintendo of America headquarters demanding rent, this landlord’s name was Mario Segale.
-Despite being released during the Video Game Crash of 1983, the arcade version sold very well in the US even though it wasn’t as popular in Japan.
