Interesting facts about F-Zero X
-According to How Long to Beat’s website the average play through takes about 7 hours to complete.
-According to GameRankings.com, F-Zero X holds an overall rank of #1084, and #25 for the N64.
-According to VGChartz, F-Zero X has sold over 1.1 million units worldwide for the N64 alone.
-Currently, about 1 game is sold per day.
-F-Zero X has a rare Japan-exclusive expansion version of the game that adds more content that isn’t available in other regions. This expansion kit utilized the 64DD, which was never released outside of Japan.
-Features a unique mode called “X-Cup” that features randomly generated tracsk.
-Made by several key programmers who also developed Wave Race 64.
-Intentional in having little background imagery and low polygon counts, Nintendo was able to get F-Zero X running consistently at 60fps, which was a hard to feat to achieve at the time. GameSpot claims that F-Zero X was the first racing game to achieve this.
-Received Game of the Month in November 1998.
